Brief Personal News
Just a brief update for those people wondering if anything is going to happen on this site. I’m in a financial situation where I’ve been able to take three or four months off work and not actually have to worry about money. This is a good thing, my last job was eight months of hell and I’ve taken the available time to unwind and de-toxify myself.
But I haven’t been idle, I’ve been working on and off on a new Atari 2600 VCS game with the help of a friend in #rgvc on EFNet, working on the Gameboy Advance cribsheet which is in it’s early stages of development. I neglected it for many months unfortunately and progress has been slow due to “real-world” work committments.
I’ve also been working on a game API for the Gameboy Advance that includes a suite of tools to convert graphics, build maps, and sundry other stuff. It’s like RenderWare for the GBA. I’m hoping I can get this released some time this year.
If you haven’t already worked it out, I’m very much in to the “retro” gaming scene, and the guys over at RetroSpec deserve a good look. Especially poignant if you are into the 80’s games that came out of Europe for the ZX Spectrum & Commodore 64.
I also fixed the broken links to the RGBASM executables, I wasn’t aware that they had broken. It seems my web host has instituted a policy that prevents a .EXE file from being downloaded from this web site due to security problems with IIS and Windows 2000.
