Looking for a LAN party :

I’m looking for a LAN Party to attend within the Los Angeles area. If anybody is hosting one and wants an extra player please drop me a lineThis email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it. I suck at pretty much every game out there so I won’t… Continue reading the remainder of “Looking for a LAN party.”

Macromedia Review Finished :

So I just wrapped up the review of Macromedia Director MX for Game Developer magazine. To be honest, I was not kind. I was expecting great things. The last time I used Director was in the distant past when it was still version two. Read the review for more information. I’m also working my way… Continue reading the rest of “Macromedia Review Finished.”

Another New Notebook :

I’ve been toying with the idea of re-installing my Windows XP on my notebook, it’s beginning to creak after a year of having software installed & un-installed and I don’t really relish the task, it means two whole days of downtime spent installing, configuring and tweaking to put it back to a usable state. I… Looking to get the rest of “Another New Notebook?” Click this link!

More Game Developer Reviews :

I am currently working on my fourth piece for Game Developer Magazine. You can find the current piece in this month’s issue and also on the Gamasutra website. I don’t know when the full 3,800 word article with data tables will be made available, currently only the shortened 950 word cut-down version has been published… Click this link to continue reading the remainder of the post

Pre-GDC 2003 IGDA Meeting :

On Monday night, 24th February I attended an IGDA meeting at the Los Angeles Institute of Art. Tom Sloper, an ex-Activision, ex-colleague of mine; Jim Charne, another Activision alumni from the Atari 2600 days; and Jeff Lander who all graciously presented a “sneak preview” of the panels they will be hosting at Game Developer’s Conference… Thirsting to read the remainder of “Pre-GDC 2003 IGDA Meeting?” Click the link!

Hodge-Podge :

A couple of people have mentioned that this site is turning in to a hodge-podge of links and badly photographed pictures of M.A.M.E. emulators running on various consoles so I’m contemplating turning it around, splitting off the personal bio/resume stuff in to a separate section and making a serious effort to turn it in to… Craving to read the rest of “Hodge-Podge?” Click here!

New Notebook :

I just junked the old 800MHz 512MB Sony VAIO PCG-FX215A with the ATI Rage Mobility M-1 graphics for a shiny new laptop. The new laptop is identical to the Alienware system but without the funky colour-scheme, though I’m thinking of getting this one sprayed bright yellow. This Alienware surrogate is a rather speedy Sager Ultra… Hankering to get the remainder of “New Notebook?” Use this link!

New Palm Pilot :

A few months back I dropped my Palm IIIc on to concrete. An expensive slip of the hand unfortunately. I had done the same thing a half dozen times in the past with little effect but this time the Universe conspired against me and it shattered the LCD screen. The Palm Pilot still worked and… Continue reading the rest of the article

Slow Progress :

Progress is slow on the Gameboy Advance cribsheet. Many apologies. Real life and work gets in the way, as always.

Waving Flag :

I need to change that damn waving flag on the right hand side, and “Yes”, it is a real-time physics demo using spring tensors, drag and derived wind coefficients and it eats up all available CPU power. And freezes older versions of Netscape running on Linux so at least it’s good for something then. Back… Click here to continue reading the remainder of the post
